The office is also responsible for maintaining the official Tax Map for the township, which is done with the assistance of an outside vendor in coordination with Middlesex County Board of Taxation.

The Assessor is assisted by outside vendors that include - an appraisal firm, a tax attorney for appeal processes and a computer software company for our database maintenance. The Assessor is a statutory position and must meet the requirements for State certification pursuant to N.J.S.A. Information and applications for the State mandated property tax deduction programs are also available from this office. In addition, the Assessor along with her staff reviews all property transfers and updates these records accordingly. The final valuation each year is the basis for the Township property tax levy. The Assessor’s Office adjusts assessments accordingly, due to changes, such as demolitions, appeals, subdivisions, and improvements. This information includes: ownership, mailing address, location, year built, land sizes, and all the characteristics of the structure. The responsibilities of the Assessor’s Office include maintaining various data on over 28,000 individual properties located in the Township.
